antarcticanightThis final Antarctica blog is filled with short videos for your viewing pleasure. Hopefully they will give you a taste of our experiences.  I need to add more text here so the formatting will turn out right, so I will tell you that we received a free Flip Video Camera last year, which is why we are able to take short videos.  It is much better than the video function on our camera.  We've always wanted a small portable videocamera because there are so many things we see that aren't captured well by photo.  Ok.  I think that is enough text.  On to the videos...

This first video was our first whale sighting.  Pretty sweet how they were so close to the ship, huh?

Penguins are really good at follow-the-leader.  They never get out of line and when the leader stops, so does everyone else

Sorry this is out of focus, but this is a good example of how penguins get in and out of the water

No Antarctica video library is complete without a video of a defecating penguin

We had to help Dr. Renee with inventory at the beginning of the trip.  Jocelin is good at inventory.

Jocelin's polar plunge into the Antarctic waters

Renee's turn

Our favorite on ship activity

This is an example of what you COULD see on a trip to Antarctica.  It is an amazing closeup video of killer whales chasing after a penguin.  That would have been so cool if we could have seen this live.

Wow, the videos are like March of the Penguins with the Hsias. I especially like
the one with the penguins on the iceberg. It's like something you would see on
the Discovery Channel.

my favorite videos were the penguins going in and out of the water, and the
penguin pooping.

jocelin has got to be my most favorite narrator, hands down!

Wow! The iceberg video was definitely my favorite! It doesn't even look real.
It looks like a Pixar movie. The penguins are so cute popping up out of the
water! Quite amazing. Thanks for sharing your videos with those of us who will
probably never see Antarctica in real life!
