Speaking of slaughter, tomorrow’s the big day. I will be at the hospital at 7am to register, meet with the anesthesiologist and prep for the surgery. The surgery itself is scheduled at North Austin’s outpatient surgery center at 8:30am and should only last about 2 hrs if everything goes as planned. I am expected to be in recovery for about 1 hr to “wake up” from the anesthesia, so I am hoping to be home by 11am or 12pm tomorrow. It’s pretty amazing that I get to home the same day. The reason I’m posting these details is because many of you have asked so you can pray more specifically for us tomorrow. Y’all don’t know how thankful I am for you. God has been so faithful to Marcus and me through your friendship and prayers. I’ve realized that we have some pretty amazing friends that we totally don’t deserve. And I’m realizing what a bad friend I am, especially to our friends and family who don’t live in Austin. Thank you for loving us and caring about us, even though Marcus and I are not so good at reciprocating. God is teaching me a lot through your love for us, and I pray that God will teach me to be a better friend to y’all through this experience. Hopefully the next time you hear from me, I’ll be a few pounds lighter! ☺

Well, we’re back from our 2 week vacation to California, Alaska and Vancouver! We had a great time with Marcus’ family and will be posting pics from our trip soon… It was a good time of relaxation, eating, enjoying God’s awesome creation (some amazing glaciers and wildlife), eating some more, spending time with relatives, and more eating… you get the picture. ☺ I am proud to say I gained the most weight of Marcus’ family – 7 pounds!!! Yeah, baby! I feel like a fattened calf before the slaughter…ha!
